About Unagi

Some information about this framework.

Unagi is a universal, lightweight frontend framework for web applications as well as forms embedded in web documents.

Specifications

Works on most sizes with over 24 field styles.

As a universal framework: Unagi works on most sizes, the smallest being the [Galaxy S5];[1] it has over 24 [field styles][2] for both desktop- and mobile-class applications; and it employs a common design language, so switching between styles is comfortable for everyone.

Menu Bar

On top of form fields, a desktop-class menu bar is available complete with submenu, icon, and mnemonic (accelerator) display support. Its mobile-class equivalent is yet to come.

Minimum Required Widths

Using the Cantarell typeface and a global font size of 12pt, a bare presentation of Unagi requires a container of at least 295px wide, 313px if contained within a fieldset or likewise. An ideal presentation--like the [Unagi Demonstration]--requires a viewport of at least 340px, which is met with the Galaxy S5 (360px). These requirements can be brought down with the exclusive use of small fields and short inputs.

With the spacer-reduced mini! [layout], a bare presentation of Unagi requires container of at least 225px wide, 238px if contained within a fieldset or likewise.

Technologies

Unagi uses only standard web technologies and without JavaScript,[3] thus not relying on external libraries and resources.

  1. under the Standard and Mobile layouts.
  2. At least three field styles, each with eight input styles.
  3. though an application may want to use JavaScript to enhance its interactivity.

Prerequisites

Internet Explorer is not supported.

For Unagi, we follow a policy of continuous advancements in software technologies. Therefore, deprecated and legacy user agents are not supported.

Unagi is designed mainly for Firefox (Gecko)[4] and Chromium (Blink), and is also tested on Epiphany (WebKit). We guess that any one that is based on one of those three and is at most three years of age should work.[5]

  1. Extended Support Release, and rigorously configured.
  2. While we urge users update their regular web browser to benefit from enhancements and corrections, we urge designers of web browsers not to introduce changes that could potentially salt its users, such as the transition from Fennec to Fenix.
