ED7 ENTERTAINMENT was founded in late 2008 with the launch of Shoot Brendon, an interactive PowerPoint "game" where the player must tap on my face in order to proceed, or else the game ends. It was my first ever publicized media, and I wanted to put a brand to it just like the big production companies to achieve similar kinds of recognition.
The name ED7 goes way back to 2004 when I came up with my nickname ED [iːdi] for no apparent reason. The number 7 was then appended as it was my favorite at the time. In 2010, it came to my senses that the name ED7 ENTERTAINMENT is too long, and that a lot of people were rather confused with the intended pronunciation of ED7 being "E.D. seven" and not "add seven." So instead of stripping off ENTERTAINMENT, leaving only ED7, I abbreviated the whole name to EDEN by taking the first two characters of each word. This is indeed pronounced like the familiar English word "eden," which should ease off the above confusion.
EDEN was once focused on media production; that is no longer the case once my computer and thus scripting then coding skills grew in the early 2010s. While most of my projects today are under the EDEN brand, they have no mention of it other than in their licenses. Today, EDEN is simply an alternative identifier to myself in my projects.
I have been running EDEN all by myself for over a decade. As above, the idea behind this pseudo-organization is to achieve the kinds of recognition that are similar to big production companies. So EDEN is simply an alternative identifier to myself in my projects (I feel like repeating myself), which is the reason to why I have been its sole member.
